Gough & Kelly hits the competition for six

Gough & Kelly has been awarded a three-year contract with Yorkshire County Cricket Club to provide event-day stewarding and security services.

The partnership, which starts this season, covers all of Yorkshire’s County Championship matches, the T20 Blast, The Hundred, Women’s T20  World Cup, ODI v Sri Lanka, not forgetting  the prestigious five-day test-match v Pakistan at Headingley Cricket Ground.

The new contract adds to Gough & Kelly’s growing sports and cultural events portfolio, which already includes matchday and player security for Leeds United and Bradford City football clubs, Castleford Tigers rugby league club games, City of York Council events, and Leeds City Council’s year-round programme of outdoor events at Millennium Square.

The Leeds events include live music concerts, cultural festivals, and seasonal activities, such as the summer "Sounds of the City" concert series, Leeds Pride, and a range of community celebrations.

Gough & Kelly Operations Director Ian Crawford says the Yorkshire County Cricket Club contract will create “incredible opportunities” for Level 2 and Level 3 stewards in the region: “We are proud to support the region's most iconic venues and events. This latest partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket will add to the employment opportunities we can offer people in the region across hundreds of events through 2026 and beyond.”

Ian says Gough & Kelly will begin recruiting this month for qualified Level 2 stewards for frontline work and Level 3 stewards for supervisory roles to manage crowd safety and security at events at premier venues across Yorkshire. Anyone interested can email events@gough-kelly.co.uk.
