We’re looking for a talented Security Design & Estimator to join our Leeds team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, enterprise-level security systems for a wide range of projects.
The position:
- Permanent, full-time
- 40 hours per week
- Office based
Job Overview:
The role is responsible for evaluating project requirements, producing compliant system designs, preparing detailed cost estimates, and generating accurate and timely tenders for security and electrical systems.
The position focuses on interpreting internal project information, sourcing and specifying compliant materials, and ensuring all designs meet relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Close collaboration with internal sales, technical, and operations teams is essential to deliver cost-effective, efficient, and technically robust security solutions that support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for electronic security system projects.
- Develop compliant system designs and technical specifications in line with project requirements, standards, and budgets.
- Produce and review design drawings and layouts, using CAD software where required.
- Review tender documentation, technical specifications, and drawings to accurately determine project scope and costs.
- Provide technical support to the sales team, including design development and value engineering solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing, technical information, and lead times.
- Ensure all proposals comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate costings, documentation, and records within internal systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an estimating and/or specifying role within the electronic security sector.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise-level security systems, including CCTV, access control, fire, and intruder alarms.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as C•CURE, Lenel, Milestone, and Axis.
- Proficient in CAD software for producing system layouts and drawings.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Full UK driving licence.
