How and when did you join Gough & Kelly?
I joined Gough & Kelly in 2021 as a Sales Coordinator. Since then, I have been promoted to Internal Sales Manager.
How has your career developed?
Back in 2012, I began my career in security by working closely with service and install engineers. My work focused mainly on CCTV and working with local councils, which was something I thoroughly enjoyed. Listening to engineers talk about faults helped me learn a lot, and I particularly enjoyed coordinating installation work. This experience has been invaluable in my career.
Tell us about a typical day at Gough & Kelly?
Every day is different, and I try to split my time evenly. Some days I work in the office, providing new quotes and responding to customer enquiries. Other days, I'm out on the road meeting with customers to understand their needs, and seeing where we can assist to improve their security.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favourite aspect of my role is interacting with customers and watching relationships build over time. I believe that it is crucial to develop ongoing relationships with customers. I enjoy getting to know them, learning about their business, and finding ways to solve their security issues.
What is your passion outside of work?
I enjoy cycling as a hobby outside of work. Currently, I am preparing for a 1200-mile self-supported race called the Pan Celtic in July. During the race, I will be carrying all my essentials, including a bivvy bag, on my bike. So, I won't have any luxury during the race. However, cycling 100 miles and sleeping in a bag in a field is an experience that makes you feel alive.
