How and when did you join Gough & Kelly?
I first started working for Gough & Kelly two years ago as a match day steward to support my living while at Leeds Beckett University. I got to steward some exciting matches (I particularly love working Leeds Rhinos!) but also some more diverse events such as sportives and triathlons.
I am studying Marketing and Public Relations, and Gough & Kelly were looking for someone to liaise with their PR agency. Through contacts within the company, I got to apply for the role and that is how I got my position!
How has your career developed?
Well, my career is just starting out! I finish my degree in May and feel very lucky to already have a position to start applying my skills practically. I have a good bearing of how the company works from my event stewarding experience, which is helpful.
Tell us about a typical day at Gough & Kelly
I start the day by checking my emails and making sure there is nothing urgent that needs to be actioned. I am currently on a learning journey, so I spend a lot of time researching and planning content for the future, as well as running the Gough & Kelly social media channels.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really love being in this job, practising what I have learnt at university in the real world and gaining experience. The team at Gough & Kelly are really friendly and supportive and I feel my contribution is valued.
What is your passion outside of work?
I love travel and am lucky to have family living in exciting far-off places. I have Thailand and Australia on my list, as well as some lesser travelled places in between.
