Director appointment at Yorkshire security firm to help drive expansion and innovation

Yorkshire security firm, Gough & Kelly, has appointed Matthew Baker as group technical director to support its geographical and financial growth and to accelerate its technical advancements.

Gough & Kelly provides diverse security and safety solutions such as electrical contracting and event security across the north of England and has done so for over three decades. It now plans to expand into wider geographical areas and further develop the technical security solutions it provides to many councils, sporting events and venues, schools, colleges, and universities, which Matthew will support.

Matthew brings 16 years’ experience in technical security to his role at Gough & Kelly, having gained experience in fire, access control and CCTV, working for large national security firms including OpenView Security Solutions and Amberstone Security. Matthew’s past experience has seen him lead on restructures and on ensuring full safety and security compliance across regional businesses.

Says Matthew, “It’s great to be part of a growing business which is leading the security industry in technological innovation. Gough & Kelly has a strong leadership team and vision and harnesses a culture where all employees feel valued. Exciting times are ahead as we plan to expand nationally and introduce further innovative technology. This will give our customers even greater peace of mind that their people, property and possessions are well protected.”

Says Ian Crawford, operations director at Gough & Kelly, “We’re thrilled to have Matthew on board with us as a director. His experience in integrating systems and teams after acquisitions will be a huge benefit as we grow. He always thinks five steps ahead in any situation and has his finger on the pulse when it comes to developing and implementing the very latest technology. We’re looking forward to introducing more technical solutions in the near future.”
