We’re celebrating 15 years of SIA accreditation

We are proud to have maintained our SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) accreditation for the 15th year running, after a recent assessment in September.

The SIA provides contractors with an approved status within a specific sector. Its Approved Contractor Scheme is a benchmark for quality within the security sector, with a uniform set of qualifying criteria that companies must meet to become SIA ACS accredited.

We were assessed in several areas including compliance with British security standards (including BS7499, BS7858 and BS7960), staff well-being, sector-specific competency and customer service. Our employees were, and are, a testament to the business, with the report stating that “Employees observed and interviewed during the assessment were professional, uniformed and had an in-depth knowledge of customer requirements, and Gough & Kelly values and codes of practice.” We also received commendation for our training and ethos.

The requirements of being COVID-19 safe in and around the workplace added extra obligations and we were delighted to have also passed these with flying colours. It has been an absolute priority to ensure our customers and staff feel safe and protected while delivering or receiving services during the pandemic.

“Along with the continued compliance to NACOSS, the team has improved its reputation and standing in the industry by becoming a member of UKCMA, received a bronze award from the Armed Forces Covenant and is now listed as one of Yorkshire’s fastest-growing companies.” – SIA ACS Report

We were particularly overjoyed with some of the customer feedback we received as part of this process, including that we are ‘outperformers’ and always ensure our customers feel safe and well informed.

Ian Crawford, operations manager, added “Best practice is incredibly important to us as a business and to hold this accreditation for 15 years is a real reflection of how hard everyone at Gough and Kelly works to provide the best security services possible. We hope this independent assessment will provide current and prospective customers with complete peace of mind.”
