VAR is not the only recording resource contributing to the experience of The Beautiful Game; high-tech and well-managed video security systems provide the ultimate ground and match day security.
When LUFC, Yorkshire’s best-loved club*, needed to upgrade their security system, they knew they were in safe hands coming to Gough & Kelly to source and install the best tech to monitor both Elland Road and their training ground. We chose the Hikvision security system to meet all the club’s needs.
Over 100 cameras were installed both internally and externally across two sites including Hikvision DarkFighter PTZ domes for high performance in low-light environments, megapixel cameras and static high-definition IP cameras. The video images are transmitted to eight network video recorders with the entire system managed by Hikvision’s HikCentral management software. This enables secure, efficient video monitoring and data management of both premises.
In addition, we installed Hikvision video security systems in Leeds United’s five retail stores, monitored from the central security control room at Elland Road, and on the mobile devices of each individual store manager.
Leeds United’s Head of Matchday Safety and Security, Sue Watson, said “When you have up to 40,000 people in the stadium, it’s important that you have high-definition pictures to monitor any incidents that may occur. It is crucial to be able to effectively interrogate the recorded video to fully investigate and identify the people involved. This video security system allows us to do that – quickly and efficiently.”
Mark Broadley, Head of IT and Facilities at Leeds United, explained: “We appreciate the functionality of this system. The DarkFighter cameras allow us to capture good quality pictures even in really dark conditions, 24/7. The system is flexible and adaptable enabling us to monitor all events held in our facilities.”
Ian Crawford says “Our aim was to deliver a high quality, reliable and cost-effective upgrade, That’s why we recommended using Hikvision.”
