Gough & Kelly has installed a new state of the art megapixel CCTV camera at Leeds United’s Elland Road ground to ensure that any incidents in its South Stand are captured at all times – at a higher resolution than ever before.
Says Ian Crawford, Gough & Kelly’s Group Operations Director, “It’s our role to keep everyone in the stadium as safe as possible and having the latest technology to support our teams on the ground has proven to be a strong combination. When used for video surveillance, the new camera delivers substantially better image control and helps capture even the most complex situations with a range of simultaneous detail views. Utilising multiple lenses and sensors with different focal lengths in one gives us superior quality of images and image depth.
“The camera is already in operation and has successfully captured over 100 incidents which led to arrests and stadium bans for the more serious incidents captured. It recently supported investigations into several well-documented incidents at the grounds which involved missiles being thrown onto the pitch.”
Leeds United plans to have more cameras of this type installed around the stadium to ensure that all incidents are captured in high definition, to make the stadium a safer place to visit and enhance supporters’ match day experience.
