A group of our energetic G&K staff completed the annual Leeds10 km running race, known as the Abbey Dash, on the 4th November. Seventeen members of our corporate team took part, including James Dunhill, Alarm Technical Manager, whose battle with cancer inspired them to join the ‘Dash’. To show our support, G&K added to their fund raising efforts and together our amazing runners raised over £2,000 for the remarkable charity, Cancer Research UK.
Unfortunately, James endured a very serious illness this year. It is both a great relief, and a testament to the hard work of organisations like Cancer Research UK, that James is fighting fit again.
Prior to the race, James said “It’s been quite a journey for me and something I thought would never happen to me, but it did and now I have seen this side of life. However, the cancer doctors and professionals are incredible, so everyone’s sponsorship is so important, to help the continued research needed to find new ways to detect and stop cancer in its tracks, so our children and their children don’t have to suffer like our generation”
James and Gough & Kelly are extremely grateful for all contributions. We wish to truly thank everyone who has donated so far. There’s still time to offer support so any donations are welcome via our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gough-and-kelly-ltd
