Void Property Alarm

03.01.12

Protect your vacant property with a Gough & Kelly void property alarm.

Gough & Kelly are pleased to announce the launch of their unique, visually verified combined intruder and fire alarm system that requires NO mains power and NO telephone landline. The system is wireless and transmits video alarmed event verification of the cause via GPRS communication to our own 24hour Monitoring and Control Centre. It achieves a Grade 2 Category tamper proof alarm standard.

It is very rare that vacant property is truly vacant when you consider the copper cabling and plumbing, together with other valuable fixtures and fittings that can be stolen or vandalized. Building sites offer a similar wealth of opportunities to thieves and vandals and of course the Health & Safety considerations of unauthorised access cannot be ignored.

Russell Todd of Gough & Kelly’s Security Division is delighted with the new product; “For the first time, we’re able to offer a monitored intruder and fire alarm system which is completely wireless, making it ideal for so many different applications”.

Russell sites the following as potential areas of application:-

Vacant properties where landlords are reluctant to incur on-going standing charges for electric and telecom installations.
Construction projects where power and telecom may not yet be present or where the installation will need to be adapted on a regular basis.
Temporary site accommodation where generator power provides all electric, thus enabling generator shut down during closed periods.
Site cabin/container installations.
Sites where speed of installation is critical.
High value property requiring extra protection for short periods of time.
Sites where permanent security staff is economically unviable.

Due to the wireless nature of the system, installation can take place within 48 hours of an order being received. Once installed, it will immediately start to transmit 10 second video clips of any detections to our Monitoring operator who will then follow a pre-agreed procedure to either dispatch one of our own Patrolmen under our ‘Keyholder’ service or telephone/email/sms text number(s) of your choice. None of the building’s existing service supplies are required so the void property can be put to bed and utilities terminated. The wireless cameras utilise infra red technology meaning there is no requirement for external light sources.

Typical packages include internal or external camera PIR detectors, smoke detectors and a siren but, as Russell points out, the system is highly flexible; “External installations are just as easy to provide and additional elements include, key fob access, loudspeaker voice warning directly from our monitoring centre and even flood detection to monitor against damaged supply pipes and sprinkler systems”.

Subject to agreement by your insurer, systems can result in theft cover being maintained on vacant property without the need for permanent security staff. For quotations and more details on how the Void Property Alarm could benefit you, please contact Gough & Kelly on 0844 880 7100.
